When Shawn Baldwin began to work on Value Creation series, he decided that he should meet the iconic entrepreneur Carlos Slim. The term Value Creation means the performance of actions that increase the worth of any business. Carlos Slim is from developing country known as Mexico .He started his investing career at the age of twelve. He became a millionaire in his early 20’s. Since then he had earned over $73 billion through his companies.

He is profound in telecommunications industry. He has his own firm known by the name of America Movil SAB which operates in 18 countries .It generates revenue of over $59 billion and has over 150,000 employees. The recent boom in telecommunications industry makes it an excellent place to outline value creation. When Shawn Baldwin met Carlos Slim, he found that despite being a multi billionaire, Carlos has a very simple lifestyle. He does not have taste of exotic cars and drives by himself.
When Shawn talked with Carlos, he spoke in a very gentle voice allowing him to intervene or ask questions. He asked about his formula of success and rules by which he lived. Carlos told Baldwin that one should not allow negative feelings or emotions to control his mind. The emotional harm is developed within ourselves and it does not come from others. He told to live the present fully and each person makes his or her own destiny. During any crisis situation some people try to run away but that’s when he is interested in getting in.
