When Shawn Baldwin started to work on Value Creation series, he decided to begin it with the entrepreneur Carlo Slim. The term Value Creation in telecom
means the performance of actions that increase the worth of any
business. Carlos Slim is the world’s richest man surpassing Bill Gates.
He belongs to a developing country, Mexico. He began his investing
career at the age of twelve. He firstly tried his fortune in real estate
and became millionaire in his 20’s.
He earned over $73 billion through his companies. He earned a lot from telecommunications industry and has his own firm known as America Movil SAB which operated in 18 countries. The company has over 150,000 employees. There is a boom in telecommunications industry which makes it best platform to outline Value Creation. Telecommunications industry generates lot of wealth and jobs.
Carlos Slim, despite having so much wealth, has a very simple lifestyle. He is not fond of any luxury cars and still drives by himself. He resides in six bedroom house which is less than mile away from his office.
